Ester type active organic solvent. Although its function in cellulosic thinner is important, it is used as a solvent in nitrocellulose resin systems, varnishes and topcoat enamels; as a solvent in paint and cellulose manufacturing; as a component in pharmaceutical processes and perfumes.
